Appointments

pen_on_diaryConsultations are by appointment but medical emergencies are dealt with as a priority. Appointments are bookable up to 2 weeks in advance, usualy with your doctor of choice. On the day appointments are available but we cannot guarantee your doctor of choice. Appointments are 10 minutes.

How to book in advance

The practice operates an appointment system and offers pre-bookable appointments up to 2 weeks in advance with the GP of your choice. These appointments are available for booking by contacting reception after 08:00 or by booking online (ask at reception for details)

How to book on the day you need to be seen

Some appointments are available for patients needing an appointment on the same day. Patients requiring an on the day appointment will not be told which GP they are seeing. This enables us to reduce waiting time as all the GP’s who are working that day will take patients as soon as they are available.

To book an on the day appointment please telephone the surgery from 08:00

Please note that same day appointments are not available on-line.

How to request a Telephone Consultation

The practice offers a telephone consultation service. If you would prefer to speak to a GP rather than attending the surgery please ask the receptionist for a telephone call.   The receptionist will ask for the reason why the consultation is being request so that they can inform the GP who will assess the urgency of the call.  Telephone consultations are held daily.  We appreciate that patients will not always be at home when the call is required so please inform reception of the number you wish to be contacted on.  The practice does not have a problem telephoning a mobile number.

Telephone consultations are not appropriate for nurse appointments. If you wish to speak to a nurse please inform reception who will ensure all the relevant details are passed to the nurse who will phone you back

Online Booking

To book online you will need to set up an account to access the service. This ensures our patients are the only people who can access the system. If you want further details on this service please ask at reception and they will advise you how to proceed

Please note that same day appointments are not available on-line.

Reception

The receptionists are often your first contact with the practice – making appointments, delivering messages, receiving requests for repeat prescriptions and generally looking after you. They have a difficult job but are always trying to help. All our staff are trained in confidentiality and the patient medical computer system

Chaperones

If you wish a chaperone to be in attendance during your consultation, please advise the receptionist or clinician who will arrange for a member of staff to be present
